History
|
|
|
|
2000 |
Salsa Groove was founded by
Elizabeth Martinez with the guidance of her husband and opened
its doors to the public on January 1st. Marketing promotion was
canvassed around Bay Ridge.
|
|
2001 |
The school established monthly
socials for extra practice time in a club like atmosphere. Also,
Salsa Groove formed a dance company named, “Ritmo Caliente
Dancers” to perform at various venues throughout New York and
New Jersey.
|
|
2002 |
Live Latin bands were brought to
play at the monthly socials for a more club like environment
full of beginner to advance dancers from all over.
|
|
2003 |
The school trained various
students for possible entry level instructor positions based on
aptitude and technique. In addition, an aggressive marketing
campaign was developed to promote brand awareness. MamboKids was
introduced which is an early childhood music program based on
Latin music for toddlers and preschoolers. Children are
introduced to the rich music and culture of Latin music
enforcing individual expression while encouraging the
development of children and enhancing their cognitive, social,
physical and emotional skills.
|
|
2004 |
Salsa Groove was renamed 2Groove
Latin Dance Studio to encompass the various Latin dances that
will be introduced in the near future. The unveiling of a new
website designed with many innovative capabilities was
introduced to provide students a smooth online experience.
Furthermore, the school developed partnership alliances with
other schools to facilitate guest appearances from time to time. |
